Nutro's Room to Run

May 7, 2011

The NUTRO company held its second national “Room to Run” day on Saturday, May 7.  The ROOM TO RUN™ Dog Park Appreciation Project is a one-day volunteer event to refresh selected dog parks around the country including the Mill Valley Dog Park. These two links explain the Project and show the 2011 "Room to Run" project  sites:

Kent Cunningham, vice president of Marketing for The Nutro Company said “Enhancing dog parks is a natural fit for The Nutro Company, as we’ve had a long-standing commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle for pets by producing natural* pet food for more than 80 years. As pet owners ourselves, we are devoted to hosting the ROOM TO RUN™ Project to revitalize dog parks across the country as they provide a natural oasis for dogs and their owners to interact and help reinforce the human-animal bond.”

The ROOM TO RUN™ Dog Park Appreciation Project is a one-day volunteer event to refresh dog parks, but everyone can help make their local dog park more enjoyable through small, but impactful changes.”

Anna Fuller,Territory Manager, The Nutro Company & Greenie, and a crew of eight arrived at our Park about 10 AM and set to work installing four new agility stations including two wonderful blue flexible tunnels, a jump-through hoop and a cannine slalom course. In addition, they helped remove foxtails from the agility stations and nearby areas including benches. Regular Park users and their dogs assisted them in both activities.  Soon four large bags were filled with foxtails.  Samples of various NUTRO products were available.

The dogs (and several humans) tested the tunnels and declared them to be terrific fun and the samples to be up to the highest Marin culinary standards.
